Glass & Quartz Cuvettes

Cuvettes are small tubes made of plastic, glass, or quartz and designed to hold samples for a variety of applications. Most often cuvettes are used for routine laboratory testing. We offer a wide variety of cuvettes for general use as well as UV spectroscopy, visible spectroscopy, absorbance spectroscopy, fluorometry, and electroporation.

  • Thermal properties: Quartz has a higher melting point than glass
  • Chemical compatibility: Quartz is stronger chemically than glass, so it can handle a wider range of chemicals
  • Ease of modification: Glass cuvettes are easier to modify and attach to than quartz cuvettes.
  • Glass cuvettes are used for visible-range measurements, while quartz cuvettes are used for experiments in the UV, VIS, and NIR spectrums.
